Position: Financial Accountant - Microfinance Institution
Location: Dar Es Salaam
Reporting To: Finance Manager/Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports
- Managing general ledger and reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
- Overseeing loan portfolio accounting and provisioning
- Preparing and monitoring budgets and forecasts
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Managing cash flow, payables, and receivables
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
- Strengthening internal controls and risk management systems
- Providing financial insights to support management decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce OR Business Administration (major in Accounting/Finance)
- CPA (mandatory or in advanced stage) / ACCA / CIMA will be an added advantage
- Must be registered with relevant professional body (e.g., NBAA where applicable)
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Banking or Microfinance institutions
- Proven experience in Financial reporting, Audit processes, Loan accounting (highly desirable), Google Sheets use
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Understanding of taxation and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Tally, SAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Slides and AI tools
