Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused, and results-oriented Loan Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential borrowers, assessing loan applications, conducting appropriate credit assessments, monitoring loan portfolios, and ensuring timely loan repayments in accordance with the organizations lending policies and procedures. The Loan Officer will also build and maintain strong relationships with clients while contributing to portfolio growth, quality service delivery, and the achievement of lending and recovery targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit prospective borrowers in line with the organizations lending strategy.
• Receive, review, and process loan applications and supporting documentation.
• Conduct client interviews, credit assessments, and appropriate field/site visits.
• Assess borrowers ability and willingness to repay loans.
• Prepare accurate credit appraisal reports and submit recommendations for approval.
• Ensure all loan applications comply with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Disburse approved loans in accordance with authorized procedures.
• Monitor loan portfolios and follow up on scheduled repayments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and loan records.
• Conduct timely follow-up and recovery of overdue and delinquent loans.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Provide clients with appropriate information regarding loan products, repayment terms, and related services.
• Identify potential credit risks and promptly report them to management.
• Prepare regular reports on loan performance, collections, portfolio quality, and other assigned activities.
• Participate in customer outreach, marketing, and business development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure professional handling of customer information.
• Perform any other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors/Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Microfinance, or a related field.
• [1 to 3] years of relevant experience in lending, credit, banking, microfinance, or financial services.
• Experience in loan appraisal, portfolio management, and loan recovery will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of relevant lending regulations, credit policies, and risk-management practices is desirable.
• Candidates with strong relevant experience and appropriate professional qualifications may also be considered.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Loan Officer Intern to support our Credit/Lending team. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in loan application processing, customer engagement, credit assessment, loan portfolio monitoring, and repayment follow-up. The intern will work closely with experienced Loan Officers and other members of the team to develop practical knowledge of lending procedures, credit risk management, customer service, and loan portfolio administration while contributing to the achievement of the organizations business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and engaging prospective loan customers.
• Support the collection and verification of customer information and loan application documents.
• Assist in receiving, reviewing, and organizing loan applications.
• Participate in customer interviews and preliminary credit assessments.
• Assist with conducting client visits and other field activities as required.
• Support the preparation of loan appraisal documents and credit reports.
• Assist in verifying customer information and assessing basic repayment capacity.
• Support loan disbursement processes in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitor loan accounts and assist with repayment follow-up.
• Assist in contacting customers regarding scheduled and overdue loan repayments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and loan records.
• Assist with data entry and preparation of routine credit and portfolio reports.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Support customer acquisition and loan product awareness activities.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of customer information.

• Recent graduates seeking practical experience in lending, banking, microfinance, or financial services are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience is not mandatory, although exposure to customer service, sales, credit, or financial services will be an added advantage.
• Must be willing and available to undertake field-based activities where required.
